The Precious Ramadan

Ramadan is one of the biggest blessings and gifts that Allah granted us, but unfortunately like all the other big blessings of Allah we just take it for granted. We neither ask to have it or thank for it. On the contrary we quickly turn it into a habit and transform it to an empty ritual that is more associated with our culture than with our creator.

Ramadan is a golden opportunity for us to get closer to Allah, an opportunity to have a clean pure Heart that loves Allah and yearns to hear his words. A self that is disciplined and willing to obey divine commands rather than dictate on the body its own desires and whims.

Allah Informed us that fasting has been ordained for one important reason. To attain Taqwa (piety), this is how we can determine whether we truly fasted Ramadan or not. If we leave Ramadan the same we enter it, then we did not really attain the important goals of fasting.

It is very important to have a strong intention to use this month to change ourselves and more important is to have the intention of keeping this change after Ramadan.

May be this change is just breaking one more bad habit, may be adding one more sunnah to our prayers or maintaining a certain dhikr during our daily life… for some it can be all that and even more.

We therefore felt its important to develop a program by which we share some goals that one can set for Ramadan and monitor them through out the month. Using this program one can tell how his iman and his deeds are growing during this month. In sha Allah this makes us more aware of our own actions and more aware of what we are lacking. May Allah make us all among his pious servants and make us from those whom he frees from Hell fire and admit to paradise during this blessed month.
